UOM : Nos

Today, over 110 tonnes of castings are made annually, according to the European Foundry Association, using a technology that has been around for centuries. Making metal components for engine, rail, and pipe components is just one aspect of foundries. Today, metal castings are used in the module sections of around 90% of all manufactured consumer goods; the automotive industry is arguably one of the sectors that is most dependent on the foundry business.

Making the pattern, melting the metal, pouring the molten liquid, cooling the metal, extracting the metal, cleaning the components, and inspecting the finished product are all steps in the casting process.

The scale of UK foundries varies, and some of them produce high-end, specialised parts for the aerospace and automotive industries. To satisfy their customers' requests, the smaller-scale ones frequently create unique and customised things.
