UOM : Nos

Although they are closely related, ceramics and glasses are fundamentally distinct from metals in their composition. Both are often electrical and thermal insulators as well as having high levels of strength, hardness, and elastic modulus. Glasses are amorphous, whereas ceramics are crystalline. As a result, when heated, glasses gradually soften but never actually dissolve. Almost always, ceramics have high melting points and/or heat stability.
